A 2BR 2 BA is mid $300 to high $300's.
A 2BR 1 BA is low, low $300.
You can get some 3BR's for mid/high $300 to low $400

When you have found your house...got to www.zillow.com to see what the current property/market in that area is going for, so you can make a good offer.
The price of your home is all gonna come down to location and how far you wanna commute. There are big houses by me that cost around the price of a TH in herndon, reston, etc, but you would have to commute and that is your decision.
Right now it is heavily a buyers market, so IMHO...buy now or within the next 2 months...cuz summer is coming up and ppl are going to be moving as well as military personnel and you can possibly find some good deals/steals if you keep your eye open.

I sold it for 300k even, but when I bought my new house...we could bargain cuz we were the buyers and the owners had already moved to a 400k TH in Reston (Single family to TH...just crazy!!!). We got the house for almost 50k below her original asking price...so I made out good.
