If i sell My G with a built motor.. how much do you think it can sell for?

2003 G35 coupe (planning to have a built motor rated at 600hp)
with the turbonetics kit, 64000 miles on the body, 0 miles on the transmission and engine.
after all is said and done (built motor, fuel system utec, rims, rebuilt tranny)
Navigation, 6speed, brembo package..

1. HOW MUCH DO YOU THINK I CAN SELL IT FOR??
2. built motor + uprgrades = ~$8500-9000
3. used stock motor = ~ $4000

4. should i just buy a stock motor, sell the car and the turbo and buy a supra for under 25k?????
(i will install everything, so no labor charges)

$30k if you're lucky...

i'm thinking my car, with everything it has, would fetch about $32-$34k, I have everything you have and much more, minus the built engine...and only 34k on the odometer.

30k seems a little far fetched.. but i have seen crazy people trying to sell theirs for like 40k...

Perhaps i would be happy if it sold for 27-28k with a built motor

i'm still confused if i should get that built motor + components/tuning for $9000

one thing to remember, cars w/ aftermarket parts dont really sell well. IMHO you'd make more money just parting everything. Sell the block, then the turbo then sell the car. Honestly you'd be lucky to get even 5k for all the parts, although you prob. spent closer to 15-20k on them brand new. I'd just sell all the stuff brand new and part the car out stock. You'll make more money although its more of a headache.

if you plan to sell, then sell. No point to wasting more money and effort into soemthing you don't plan to keep, especially when it comes down to a car. Like puria said, selling parts and the stock car, will fetch more than selling a modded car. Assuming uninstalling cost is minimal.

Yeah i agree with Khoa, it is very hard, because hardly any people want to buy heavily modified cars. If you want to sell a modded car, your best bet would be Ebay. Also, i think you will get the most money if you part out and sell all your mods then get your car back to stock and sell it/trade it in.

well... i think im forever doomed with the cursed mod bug virus..
I KNOW FOR A FACT -- That if i order a stock block, sell the turbo, sell the G, buy a >25k supra... I probably will STILL spend an outragous amount of money

Supra> built ST G35?
Built ST G35> Supra?

If you plan on getting another car ,don't waste money. The only reason to get a built motor would be that you were keeping it,not to make money. Sell it and move on.

Been in the same situation before. Cut your losses and part everything out. If you can get away with just a stock VQ motor, do that. You will have a greater chance of selling the car, because with a stock motor, you just doubled your buying audience. Many people do not like buying modified cars. I know I don't.

Save the money for the supra, find a clean stock one... You'll end up spending way less modding it to reach 4, 5, or 600whp. On a stock block no less!

Get the blue book value of your car and add 25% of the value of mods you put into the car. So if your BB value is $20k and you spent $20k on mods, add $5k and you get $25k.

Unfortunately, you will almost always lose money on mods.

Just part the car and sell it if you really want to sell it. Dont built your motor and such if you're not going to use it. What's the point in that? If you're not going to have fun with it, why even bother? Your sale value wont go up unless you find someone that is rich or into Gs. All the time and money you put in this car, you should have fun with it.

Depends on what you want. I used to have a 93.5 Supra TT hardtop 6-speed that was BPU++ or whatever. I had a lot of good times in that car. Certainly from a tuner standpoint the Supra hands down is much easier to tune for more power. But unfortunately the Supra looks aged and I prefer my G coupe to the Supra.

But if you want the Supra I wouldn't waste the time on building up your G.

Man..
I was thinking of the same thing.
Worried about selling my car after I blow my engine and go built...
If I got a built engine in my G, I would keep it forever and go all out.
If I were to sell it, I would sell it as close to stock as possible.
I say go built G35 and widebody or something

BTW, are you planning to keep the Turbonetics after you go built???
