Thats a nice collection, but have you considered that blu-ray and hd-dvd are gonna take over and dvds will become obsolete fairly soon?

You might need to start over…

They can...but the difference in quality is like VHS vs DVD. You're gonna wanna replace DVD's because the quality of the picture sucks, in comparison to HD-DVD and BluRay.

That's why it's better to just download movies that you "wouldn't mind" owning, rather than blowing all your $$$ on movies that that you'll watch only a couple of times.

^^ I disagree. A lot of my movies are DVD-9 anyways, not even compressed to 4.7 GB discs. They said the same thing about CD's when they came out however they are still pretty mainstream even with mp3's out. I think you're going to have to wait a while for HD or Blu-Ray DVD to make an impact. I don't think you can compare VHS to DVD as DVD's to HD-DVD. Regular DVD's look pretty damn good on my LCD tv already. I see what you're saying however but the difference isnt as big. Burn on!!

my ps3 downscales regular dvd to 480p, which looks like doo doo. , they need to update the firmware to address this issue. blu-ray owns dvd bad though, especially on a 1080p tv.
