Besides the looks of the Nismo Z, I think it packs some really good tuner goodies from the factory to save would be tuners $$$. I'd look at the Nismo Z as a work in progress (minus that obnoxious spoiler) for a tuner type driver. It says that Nismo retuned the VQ35HR with new internals (80% new parts). Perhaps it's worth investigating if the refined VQ are now better suited for more aggressive FI mods. The Z is looking more and more like a beefy late 80's 911 whaletail edition.

eww .. the second picture is worst.. that front bumper is ridiculously fugly, and the headlights look like some one did a "porsche headlight conversion" on a Z... no originality!
