Im not %100 sure but the last time I got a tint ticket, I had to go to the MVA/State Trooper location to get it signed off. They use a light meter which I dont think a standard inspection facility even carries.

%20 will not pass.... at all. i had %35 on my old car the meter read %34 but they give you if i remember correctly + or - %2. im assuming you are trying to avoid removing the tint....

Is this for a tint ticket? or merely an inspection for other purpose?

What state inspections are you talking about for Maryland? Do you mean emissions testing? Not aware of whatever inspection you're talking about. Is this for a fix-it ticket?

Also you can remove the tints yourself. Just requires some soap water and a little time. I wouldnt pay someone to remove them personally.

Its a stupid fix it ticket. I asked the cop for a fine once he wrote it and hes like im sorry I dont write fines for tinted windows I make people get rid of them. So anyone know any place that tests tints with a +15 / -15 % marker lol?

I don't know if inspection places are allowed to inspect and/or sign off on tint tickets. I might be wrong, but on the repair order, is there an asterick next to the violation? I received 10+ repair order for my accord and once i got it for my foglights and it had an asterick and forced me to get it sign off by a police officer. I got a feeling tint ticket is something you need to bring to the DMV where they will have the meter. double check the ticket.

tint violations can be signed off by a repair facility BUT you still have to have the vehicle visually inspected and signed off by the state police. Ive gotten plenty of violations with tint, unfortunatly.

just go to any state police barracks. I removed all my tint one time but the front tint strip and when they walked out to inspect the car they told me I even had to remove that. they seemed pissed, like I was wasting their time. it was only 1/2" below the AS1 line. I just peeled it off right then and there.
(this is on my '93 mustang, not the G)

always happened on rt 50E heading toward school, near Rowe Blvd. I had 5% at first, which was really dark and obvious, then I put 20% but I still kept on getting busted. Doesnt help when the freakin car is loud as hell either.
