Stanton is dumb

Ok, so I remote start my car this morning and it starts with no problem. I get in the car and I realize that the only lights that are on are the headlights, parking lights, and dome (ceiling lights). I check the headlight switch just in case and it was on AUTO like I always leave it. So basically everything else is working except the dash board lights and displays. I mean the entire dash is just dark (this includes the compass/climate area, radio display, and status lights for the A/C). So I turn the switch from AUTO to OFF and all the dash/display lights come up with no problem. So I try the other 3 settings (AUTO again, parking lights only, parking lights and headlights) and nothing. The only time the dash lights up (entire front panel) is in the OFF position. The other 3 positions leave the dash lights completely dead.

Any thoughts?

Did I maybe just blow a fuse? I mean everything works radio, A/C, rear defroster, CDs, tapes, cigarette lighter but only when the headlight switch is in the OFF position. I had to get to work so I didn't have a chance to check.

HELP? Please....

so your brake lights work as well when you step on the brakes? i notice that if you are having problems with dash lights it somehow effects the brake lights as well.

I think they maybe out. I'm not sure. I need another set of eyes or a foot to go outside and help me double check. F*CK! I'd hate to think I drove 52 miles to work with no brake lights. Either way if they are or arent' out does anyone have any ideas?

***Brake lights work under all switch settings***

Shut up...

The only brightside is that I showed 2 other guys and they didn't think of it either. This has happened before but I've never turned it all the way down, sometimes it'll get real dim but never off. Must've been my fat fingers hitting the trunk release.

Don't feel too bad. I totally did the same thing before. Only I was driving at the time. It was getting dusk and my headlights turned and my dashlights went blank. I was like WTF!. I was driving on the expressway at the time. I turned off my headlights so that I could see my dash. I was sure something was ucked up. Then I realized what was really wrong...
