you dyno your car stock so that you have a baseline. Then when you do a couple mods you dyno again to see what you've gained. Thats how it's supposed to be done. Also the 280 on paper is to the crank...not to the wheels. This will tell you what you're putting down to the wheels. Also every car is different stock...some cars are faster than others...eventhough its the same car.

You make a good point terry, there's no "true" way to measure mod. But what little info you can get, might be useful. Yea there's like quiet a few dyno that present different numbers, dynopak, dynojet, and mustang are the popular ones. Don't forget dyno give you other readings other than peak numbers such as the slope and A/F ratio. At the Meet, when Jesus dyno, eventhough it was lower numbers than we though, we can clearly tell he was running lean. Which might of been the cause of his low numbers.
There's no fool-proof way unless you have plenty of money and resource to truely test mod. But it's much better to find out yourself what these mod are worth, than to rely on the seller and or butt dyno from other believers.
