Lolz.. ur talking about UFC, but in particular, it sounds like u are referring to Gracie. His fighting style (Brazilian Jujitsu?) involved alot of grapples, pins, locks, and wrestling like takedowns. If you are expecting a punchfest, Gracie isn't fun to watch, but he wins.

The fights usually dont spend much time locked up on the ground anymore. Now everybody knows at least some Brazilian Jujitsu unlike the beginning of UFC and that causes the fighters to push the action. Plus, the refs are quick to stand the guys up if there is little to no action.

The 2 main events will be slugfests: Ortiz/Shamrock and Arlofski/Silva. Expect to see lots of blood or a quick knockout (anybody can get hit on the button in a slugfest!).

Thanks to all of those that came out last night. I had a great time notwithstanding the crappy fights on tv... the ones at the table and later in the parking lot made up for it.

Lek was so pissed about the fights on tv since they werent that good and kept pickin fights with everyone. After we left the place at like 1:00-1:30 he pissed me off so I piledrived him onto the cement sidewalk. He was drunk though so he really didnt feel the 3" gash in his head.

Yeah, I was very disappointed with the Main Events. I can't believe they stopped the Ortiz/Shamrock fight. I don't like Herb Dean (the ref that stopped the fight) because he has a habit of stopping fights too early. Oh well. The first fight with Yves Edwards forming pools of blood in the corner of the Octagon was well worth it.

I totally understand why the ref will stop the fight. Ken couldn't defend himself. I think if he didnt stop the fight, ken would've been knock out and that wont look good at all. He lost 5 out of his last 6 fight. He needs to stop.

I don't agree, his arms were still up and he was still moving. I realize there were 5 unanswered elbows, but look at the first fight. Then, when Ortiz was pulled off, Shamrock jumped right up. You could practicly see Edwards skull. He was hit many more times with unanswered elbows.

I totally agree he needs to stop. He was incredible in his day, but there is a time you have to stop. Plus, I was a huge fan of him until TUF3 and saw how his attitude was towards others. It would have been nice to see Ortiz knock him so maybe he would shutup and stay retired. Oh well, it is the past. They will probably fight again.
