Raced an R32 from a roll

Coming back from ashburn, I was behind a VW R32 hatchback and I knew he wanted some friendly competition the way he zipped past me on purpose. As Devon says..."game on" lol.

I was behind him at the next light both turning left, I held second on purpose right under 20 mph, so he had a slight advantage since he gunned first and he definitely was in a better power band spot than I was. Anyways, Those cars sound nice! (back to the story) Initially, he had about a car on me out of the turn. He held that lead until about 4.5K into 4th gear where by near the top of 4th I had him by almost 2.5 car lengths and going.

We slowed down due to traffic and he rolled up next to me as I slowed down to get his attention. I told him his exhaust note was sweet and he told me it was stock. I gave him a thumbs up and was on my way back to work.

BTW, yes I did have traction control off lol.

Those cars accelerate well down low.

^ when you are rolling, no matter what gear you are in, your tires can slip and your VSD will kick in.

Besides, it was off before the race even begain "just in case"

To be honest though, especially in the manuals, the traction control can kick in and the light not even blink. For instance, my launches are completely different with it on vs off, and I mean normal launches from lights.
