money is of no object for me with those i care about or trust. having said that, there are people on this forum who owe me $5, and I dont know what makes anyone think i'd trust that person w/ $80. it's not the $5 I care about, nor have I ever brought it to their attention. As "Sonny" said (Chazz Palminteri) in 'A Bronx Tale', the way I see it, you paid $20 to get rid this person from your life (after "C" stated his friend owed him $20 but kept ducking him...). Some of the people here dont know how to manage money, and dont have their priorities straight. they can go out and have a good time, but when it comes time to pay the check they always have some excuse on why they are short or whatever....
you gotta pay to play, if i dont got the $$...then i dont come out, period...

Reading the above kinda confuses me because I dont know know who owes anyone money, and I damn sure know its not me who ducks out on paying the tab. I always give more than what I owe.
with that being said, the only reason the dollar amount is increased each month is to give each member who is waiting more incentive.

I guess some people just aren't very trusting....I for one trust quite a few people here and have loaned money out on several occasions. I know they will pay me back and I don't sweat it.
1 other thing, it's the small money that bugs me, I don't care about the larger dollar, because people aren't comfortable leaving a large debt, it's the $5 people that get me.

I trust everyone in the group that I've had a conversation with. I think the underlying issue is: why? I know some people could use a capital infusion, but I don't have a need or application for it right now (other than paying off a 2nd mortgage?).
I dont know if any of this is directed at me, but if I have forgotten to pay a 5 dollar loan to someone, claim it at happy hour. I dont think I owe any of you nukkas **** heh, but speak up.
Yeah my question would be why? Get your own personal advisor (my best friend is one) and your returns will be even greater over 6 months depending on if you go aggressively or not. Market's been sh!tty as of late but even then its a more solid play. As the old adage goes, never mess wtih friends and money unless its completely necessary. I'd suggest personally read up on a poker book adn play online and you'll easily win $100 in a few days. Junior does it and I'm getting back into my poker playing days.

I still like my Raffle idea better, make it interesting since you don't knwo who may win. Luck of the draw. $50 can win you $300-400 depending on how many participate. Done deal, no long term trust issue. We can make more guideline to make it more fair since we're not in this to make money.

Well to give you some sort of idea, i play for hours at a time. I generally sit down anywhere between 50-100 in a cash game. not soo much. You'll notice online that players are pretty aggressive. They'll play for flush draws or striaght draws, just really bad plays as newbies. Sure you'll die on the river but more than likely you wont. Just pick and choose your spots and you'll come away with a big pot. Even in no-limit people play on draws which is just stupid. A few nights ago, Sunday night I won a $250 pot. Pretty big in my standards. I came away with around 500 or so that night. Sure you have your ups and downs and bad beats or just plain bad cards but overall, if you play tight and pick your spots, almost guarnateed in the span of 3-4 times of sitting down you'll make an easy $100 or so. And thats with the little games I play. Of coures you can play at higher stakes games and win more but also lose.
