Do carbon ceramic pads at track days help eliminate rail dust?
I have a white '13 G37S sedan and usually run Hawk DT-60 pads for track days. I just cleaned my car yesterday and had to clay it again to get rid of all the rail dust.
Just wondering if switching to carbon ceramic pads for track days would help eliminate rail dust. I ran Carbotech pads (XP10-14's?) on a silver car (also a bad color for rail dust) a long time ago, and I don't remember it being an issue, but I could be wrong.
Let me know your experiences. Thanks!

I'm not 100% sure, but I suspect carbon ceramic pads will lessen the dust, but I also suspect that you will sacrifice braking performance....
an alternative is to use painters tape to cover the areas where the buildup occurs on the body and peel it after the track day...its cheap and pretty easy to apply and also protects the paint from other hazards such as rocks if you go off into any gravel...consider it part of your track day onsite prep and it can be on and off in a few minutes without much trouble

Anyone else try carbon ceramic brake pads with any success of eliminating rail dust at track days?
Lol...my bad my g is black so I guess I dont know where the rail dust hits... I didn't realise its was as wrap the whole car type thing, I see alot of people tape the area behind the wheel wells at the track and figured that would do it...
From what I understand, carbon pads do still create buildup, especially with race pads, but the buildup is of a gentler variety that comes off easier and doesn't impregnate paint. It's also grey and not brown like my regular brake dust.
That being said, I have a grey car and don't know if it's dirty half the time. It probably is.

That is one advantage of darker colors- they don't show rail dust.
Anyone else have any luck with ceramic track pads reducing the amount of rail dust on their car?
