I have a '13 G37S sedan that will mainly be street driven in WI, but will see some track days once it warms up. I would like the added protection of an oil cooler on the track, but I also know that my car will run cool on the street with it, especially in the winter.
I drive about 7 miles each way to work on the highway and I know it will take longer to warm up and give me worse mileage. Can you get away with this car on the track for 15-20 min sessions without cooking the oil? Ideas?

I don't have first hand knowledge yet, but by all accounts 3-4 minutes is all you'll get on the track before you get limp mode.
Purchase an oil cooler with a thermostatic sandwich plate. The plate bypasses the oil cooler until the oil gets up to operating temp of ~180 degrees and is designed with exactly this operating situation in mind.

Good point. I guess the guy at CZP was not aware of that, but then again the description of the Stillen oil coolers is not very clear about it. I just ordered a 25 row Stillen oil cooler so hopefully that will keep me nice and cool on the track.
