Test N Tune at orlando speed world

Had a great time last night...weather was pretty good. Ran my new best twice in a row...did a 13.1@105.99 (lets call it 106 lol) with a 1.922 60 foot. Im stock right now..all I really did was take the plastic cover off the engine and stick a bag of ice on the intake manifold. Temp was about 59F last night. I have cheap milestar tires right now (was on the car when I bought it). Hopefully some better tires that hook better and I can launch alittle harder I can dip into the 1.8's 60 foot range. I plan on doing the 4.08 Gear swap over the summer and putting some sticky tires on it..thats gonna be fun hehe.

Awesome run. I'm going next Friday. Gotta see what my confusing mix of mods is going to do.

Nice! Can you describe your launch? Launch RPM, quick slip of the clutch, etc?

no clutch..im auto (7AT). I launch at 2000 rpms (power brake), its nice the 7 speed in this thing has a 4.9 1st gear which makes it easy to pull away hard with no wheel spin. I use the short gear to move out of the hole fast with 0 wheel spin instead of spinning and chirping the tires off the line. I do believe the 7 speed is faster then the 6mt version of this car. The gearing in the 7 speed on this car is more aggressive then any 6 speed I have driven. Manuals are more fun to drive but todays autos are taking them out.

Either it's a good track to launch or some of my OEM parts are worn, which cause me to wheel hop off the line. I can't launch harder than 1.5k RPM.

Do you let go at 2000RPM and smash the gas or slowly feather it?

after power braking i push the gas to the tires max grip point (took practice to master this). I also turn traction control off so i have more control over the launch without the car getting in the way.

I agree on the Auto VS Manual comparison. Good to see a sub-2 sec 60 foot! What tire/size/psi? Great job, 12's are RIGHT around the corner!

Pretty impressive for a stock sedan. With cooler weather, you will prob have some gains. How many passes where you able to make? I haven't been out there in years.
