1/4 Mile last night

Well finally got around to getting out to the track last night. It was fun to get her out there and let'er loose again. But I think there was a V8 convention last night....a good 8-10 vettes, couple G8's, C63 AMG, 5.0's and GT's, couple RT's, and a handful of GTO's...none the less I was looking at brake lights most of the night

Track conditions honestly probably couldn’t be any worse...was 97 degrees at start time with 100% humidity and by the end of the night it had dropped down to a brisk 89 w/still 100% humidity.

My best time of the night was 13.9 at 99.32 MPH, best 60' of the night was a terrible 2.160 Only good thing I saw come out of it was out of the 18 passes I had last night; 14 of those I ran a 14.1-14.2....so at least I was consistent....consistently bad I should say. Just to enlighten, this is the same track I go to every time I run the 1/4 and I am normally in the 13.7-13.8's. I'll just blame the lovely weather.

Highlight of the night tho was I did beat a 6.0 GTO Granted he did chirp in every gear all the way down...but still. Lastly, there was 3 GTR's that was just plain awesome sight to watch launch down the track! All 3 were running inbetween a 10.6-11.2 all night.

Maybe I'm naive, but a heavy, daily driver sedan that hits 13's with street tires, on day with oppressive heat and humidity... you should feel pretty good about that.

I see your point and maybe it was just a little more frustrating lining up against some monsters last night as well.....I'm happy in a way with the times considering the conditions....but this is also my slowest day I've ever had their to so

ahh yea the GT-R's were in a class all on their own. I actually recognized one of them thats from Tampa....900hp DD Ive seen on youtube and around town. Cool guy that drives it too. Watching them line up against each other was the highlight of my night and I felt like a kid again watching them ROAR down the strip

I miss nights at the drags, our strip closed down a couple years ago and although I raced a few cars over the years, never took the Gs out

Sounds like a fun night and would love to see those GT-Rs lighting it up

sounds like a great night. although i never saw any GTR's, watching the 'stang GT500's were fun. actually, one of them was a "demo" with the stickers still on the window. the guy was a GM of a local dealer. put slicks on it for the night and ran it hard. i made a mental note never to let anyone i know buy a car from that dealer!

it's been a few years since i had the G at the track. still remember it fondly. especially spanking my friend's 350Z repeatedly. driving 6MTs often comes down to a driver's race. and i always tried to go up against similar power/weight vehicles. it's no fun getting blown away...

don't read too much into your ET's. the hot weather clearly wreaked havoc with your NA engine.

A driver's race sounds like a lot of fun. I wonder how I'd do against some of my buddies with similar cars.

High 13s, but very dependent on atmospheric conditions, altitude, tires, etc.

60' time due to spinning? Regardless, as stated, very respectable.

Normally its with VDC off, and normally launch around 1000-1300 rpm. Anything more and it seems like I just spin even more. Tried launching at 2k and got bad wheel hop and back end got loose pretty bad.

But I did try a few diff things just to see, VDC on/off, dead stop into a roll then floor it, tried feathering brake/gas....nothing really seemed to "hook up" off the line....best times were as mentioned above vdc off-1k launch
