Custom Made Driving Shoes
Hey guys,
My family owns a Shoe Manufacturing factory and this weekend I had the thought of making Custom made driving shoes. I wanted to gauge interest and pick your brains for ideas. Currently we have two ways of making custom shoes. 1. Actual casting with plaster or a fiberglass sock or 2. Using out scanners to make a 3d image of your foot.
Price would go from - $600-$700, light weight material would be used among some flame retardant material ect. Lemme know what you guys think.

Guys who don't race on a very regular serious basis will not pay $600+ for custom race shoes. For that matter, the guys I know who do race regularly don't pay that for shoes.
You can get a good pair of Alpinestars or Sparco shoes like the ones you pictured for less than half that. True, they aren't custom made and fitted to your feet, but if you're not making money racing why would you want expensive custom shoes? The offer is is appreciated but it's very pricey for the occasional weekend racer. Maybe make the offer to F1 guys.
Best of luck to your family business though.

This is just my experience and opinion.
For me, driving shoes make a big difference. It helps me feel the pedals better, comforts my feet while constant manual shifting and also saves me from having the ball of my heel feel like crap after driving for a while.
I bought my Piloti's long time ago and use them every time I go for a drive, especially the long ones. I don't recommend you use them out of your car for walking anywhere because they have no support for that activity. I usually take a pair of sneakers just in case.
As you can see in the pic the end where your foot heel sits is curved so your ball joint pivots. You will see a world of difference once you try them. If you can find them for the right price I would recommend them, but you won't see me paying more then $150 for them unless like mentioned above I start taking my G to the track.
