Hey guys went down to the local Drag Strip here on Guam and got about 10 time slips. Sorry Mods I have no scanner but I swear these times are legit. The car is bone stock unless you count window tinting a mod lol, but its the automatic w/paddle shifters. I did not use the shifters the whole night, just kept it in DS Mode with VDC off and no launch RPM just floored it when last yellow light lit. Here was the results from my fastest time.

Reaction- .8920
60 ft.- 2.3028
1/8 ET- 9.348
1/8 MPH- 77.44
1/4 ET- 14.3449
1/4 MPH- 99.60

My fastest reaction time was.5419 just got lucky on that one but only put down a 14.417 on that run for some reason. Like my other post on my autoX times, any info or suggestions on how to lower these times would be greatly appreciated. Obviously modding the car would improve times so any suggestions besides what mods to put on would be great. Thanks again.

When are you shifting? What RPM?

 

2.3 60ft is kind of high i think? Maybe a better launch will give you faster times?

 

what is the elevation? what times are other cars posting? how was the track conditions? was it prep'd?

 

try to keep vdc on, helped me becuz the tires skid to much. Keep it on take off and take it of fast after take off, should help u.

Not positive on the exact number but on the attached pic from Maps.com. We were at the northern tip of Guam and if I am reading it right, we were at around 10000 feet. Would that make a difference? Not sure of the exact humidity but it was really hot with no wind if that helps. I was actually posting good times compared to some other close to stock cars. My friend has a bone stock 07 WRX and he was putting down 14.7s and some mustang was running 16-17 secs. Most of the cars that were not in the competition were posting in the 15s. I was told by someone at the track, that because of the conditions on Guam you are suppose to take off almost a full sec of your time. Not sure if that is true or not either.

 

It was on DS mode so I wasn't paying attention to exact RPM. I think at WOT it goes close to redline, not sure if that if correct or not.

 

I was actually getting decent traction. I tried to launch it one time at 1K but I got a 14.9 on that run. Another G37 down here I heard has been running about the same times as me and I believe he has an automatica as well. Not sure about where he launches at and his specific 60ft, 1/8mi, and reaction times were. The car took a while too pick up speed but when it got going it kept pulling really wish I could do to help out the bottom end.

Altitude will make a difference. I didn't see in your sig that you had an auto. I know on my dynos the car drops power after 7k RPM so shifting at 7k seems to be the best thing instead of taking it to red line but maybe you can do this with the paddle shifters.

 

big difference. at sea level you would have been in the 13s...

 

Ok if you go next time press the brake rev the engine to around 3 to 4 k
and belive me u will do a much better time. pretty sure you can run around 13.9 that way. Only thing is when i turn vdc for quarter mile i find i get no traction and even skid on second gear. Try to keep the brakes like i said before if you did not do it.

Yea I believe the DS was taking it past 7K, probably will use the shifters next time to shift at 7K

Yea I think someone was saying that at the track, that we should take off 1sec from our time due to the conditions. At first I thought that was BS but now I see it makes a world of difference.

One of the guys at the track was telling me to launch it at 3K, but I was going off of what some other guys on this forum were saying. Like they said that the test driven G's got better times from not reving it up at all, and also some guys were saying that if you rev up you are only building up heat in the tranny and will cause lower times. I would rev it up to 3K but the only thing I am worried about is the tranny and if it can handle it. Is this bad for the tranny or is it ok to do just not under everyday driving?
