back to topic.. wouldent letting off the throttle loose power when shifting?
i only got this noise when i first started driving the G. i only noticed it if i didnt give the car enough gas when getting off the clutch, so the revs dropped too much. but the car stopped making that noise after i got used to the clutch after a couple days

unless ur racing, its best not to go back into first. if ur rolling, 2nd gear should have enough power for u

that is true. our cars have such a close gear ratio that it is ridiculous that we are able to drive as low as 33mph in 6th gear. I used to drive a truck with a 5 speed and the lowest I can go in 5th gear is 45mph. Even the mustang I drove 5th gear's lowest speed was 50mph. The good thing about our close ratio is it is great for the track and gear selection for perfect power selections.

Pointless? Do you all even drive your cars. I drive mine everyday to work about 30 miles a day.

Geez, I've had my car for 4 months and I have 2800 miles

Anyway, if you want a smooth 1st->2nd shift, just hold down the clutch a little longer than your other shifts. The RPM's don't fall as quickly as they do in the other gears. Pay attention to your RPM's and make mental notes of how your car reacts under different circumstances. I figured it out eventually, I'm sure you will too.

On a brighter note, I think I've finally gotten the hang of heel-and-toeing! woo hoo!

Heel and toeing allows you to shift back into a lower gear. since you are going at a high speed and braking hard for a turn it would be hard to shift into a lower gear. If you force the shift you will grind your gears and mess up the syncros. Also it allows for less shift shock when going into a lower gear.

before u were told about double clutch downshifting. so think of that concept. now u add this in--->as ur slowing down for a corner, u press the brake w/ the ball of ur right foot, shift into neutral w/ ur left, blip the throttle w/ the heel of ur right foot, and then clutch into the lower gear. so ur braking, doubleclutch downshift (revmatching) all at the same time.

the thing is you need to be going pretty fast and braking very hard for a true heel and toe to work correct. Other wise your going to be jerking on the brakes and everything will just go down hill from there
