ECU reflash should take care of it... but with our tires anything over like 4.5K is worthless. And thats already on the high side

WOW! I know on my Z, that if you tried a hard launch, the clutch would stick to the floor and burn the hell out of your clutch. Never heard anything about the gas pedal sticking. But I know you guys are referring to the G also. I don't know if there was/is a difference.

The Z had a weak clutch, rubber clutch line, and not so good fluid. All which played a factor in the clutch sticking and burning. After I went FI, I changed the line to a braided SS line with added racing fluid. Help out a lot. Hadn't had a chance to rough the G. Still breaking it in.

I know I've never dump the clutch. To me it's more about trying to launch with revving the car beyond the capabilities of the stock components. Revving it to high causes the fluid to heat up rapidly (possibly boil), along with the flex in the rubber line. Now all this is what I experienced on my Z. Never had or heard anything going wrong on aftermarket products.

I've never driven a Z, but I heard you have to rev hard off the line to produce power as in our car due to the lack of torque and the fact our peek power comes in the high rpm's, how did you get around this? maybe your tricks will help me in my G37.

I never got around to changing the clutch itself on the Z. I did change to a stainless steel braided line and racing fluid. That helped out for the most part, but still the clutch would stick now and then. I never did a lot of drag racing. So I didn't have this problem as much as others. Always been into road course racing. And even then the clutch would slip a lot. It was junk. But in those conditions the clutch pedal wouldn't stick.

One of my first mods for this year will probably be a clutch. Not sure how great, if better, the clutch might be on the G37.

Fuel doesnt cut of but the idea in drag racing is to shift right after peak power unless you have very little HP drop off after peak. Best way to figure this is to look at a dyno of the car. For traction you can lower you rear PSI to 30 and make sure front is stock PSI. Also track prep and temp has a lot to do on how you launch. If its 60 and under at night forget it. You will have to launch at a much lower RPM then if it was 80 sunny during the day... Its all a feel with a lot of factors. Your launch will prolly be between 1500 - 3000 RPM's

Good luck maybe ill see ya down there!

another thing u can do which i know is inda lame but may help is to make sure ur runs are with 1/4 or less tank of gas for weight reduction and perhaps take the spare out of the trunk....of course your times wont be objective anymore when compared to G's will full tanks and spare in...

yea tire pressure is VERY important.. and running low gas and taking your spare/jack out will help as well..

Thanks for the input. I'm hoping to get out to the track soon. The weather here in Philly isnt helping at all though. Yea def going to clear out the trunk. I did that the first time i went to the track with my 2003 4 door g35. I ran a 14.5 with automatic tranny. I guess that was average for that car.

Hoping to dig into the 13.6's with this one. Ordering HFC's soon
