So I installed the R2C Intake and removed the under the hood fireproof material so the hood would close. But now there is a strange noise at idle. Maybe that material served as soundproofing as well?

Anyone else experience this?

 

It's not fireproofing, it's sound dampening.

 

Ok, so I guess I will have to reinstall it.

 

lol this thread is great. you're hearing your engine. Infiniti engineers designed the sound proofing liner to dampen engine noise, so you wouldn't have the very complaint you created this thread for.
