Dude I will in CT this summer Bro I will for sure let you know when Im in town...Bro I love these cars love talking about them looking at and modding the hell out of them...The funny thing is this is my first car from Japan...came Audi/VW and had a few Volvo's so every part I researched got tips from this forum and just added my flair to it to create this build, this almost three years in the making this car...
Any chance you will have your car when you come up this way?
ijahman, I have to admit that I have never been a fan of the sedan at all. I though it was ugly. Then it started to grow on me. Then my wife wanted one so we got it and I appreciate it more. But I have to say that with the work that you've done on your car, I believe it is my favorite G37 hands down. The parts. The work. The money. They way it all flows together instead of being a bunch of crap bolted onto a car with no real plan. Now the badass stroked FI motor. And the brakes are the icing on the cake.

Bill what do you think about taking the time to start some kind of authentic or JDM education type thread. I know myself having my g for a little over a year have spent a lot of money going one way because is it what seemed quality and popular at first and now turning in a different direction with many parts because of what I have learned and gotten to know some more people. Ultimately it will come down to everyone's personal choice but I think since jdm parts are harder to come by and "look up" making them more accessible to the masses might help at least educate people on what is out there and where some of the designs are originating from. I completely understand it is no one's responsibility to teach others and it takes a lot of time but I know there are a lot of people on here passionate about this philosophy and maybe it would in turn help grow the industry and provide more opportunities for everyone?

^ Good point! I too consider myself a noob as this was my first Japanese car, and I got really into and love the JDM lifestyle. I'm sad to be leaving it so soon but I'm sure I'll be back in the future, and I'll always lurk around these parts even when my Infiniti is gone.
Personally I think Chris' car is one badass build and he would easily take the cake for the mose baller JDM Infiniti on this forum. I wish my pockets were as deep as his, maybe one day, but until then I enjoy seeing what he has in store for his ride.

That is, more or less, the reason I created this thread. I tried to make it clear that I wanted this to be one of the few threads not watered down with the common, shoddy, poor quality or knock-off/replica parts. I never stated that I wanted this to serve as an "All-JDM" thread, but I don't think it is a coincidence that it has sort of evolved into that... 
People have their own tastes and will buy whatever parts they like and can afford. However, I think part of modifying is learning. Doing research is key, but there is no shame in constantly wanting to improve your project. It would be ideal to have a completely stock vehicle and have a "perfect" plan - draw up a blue print, have everything come together perfectly, and, within weeks, be DONE. However, for numerous reasons, I don't think that is realistic. That is why they call them projects. They are constantly evolving. As an example, I have some nice parts on my car, but I am always looking to improve it. I have changed many things on my car and I continue to change things. I have plans in the works right now that I did not believe were even a possibility when I first purchased my car. I don't necessarily think that means I have gone about modifying incorrectly, but simply that I am constantly striving to make my car "better." When I get bored or am not having fun anymore, that is when I'll know it is time to move on.
It's all individualistic. Different strokes for different folks. I am more inclined to buy a $35,000 car and dump $35,000 into it making it my own than drive a $70,000 car off the lot and have it be the same as every other one on the road.

That said, I am hardly an authority on all that is JDM, but, for me, it really just comes down to quality over quantity and, of course, innovation over imitation. I'm a nobody, but I do love this stuff and I do consider my car to be a bit more than a casual hobby.

Well said just how I feel..... And dude I will be in the G when I come up I also have a lot of friends in NYC that want to seebth car...
Thanks guys when I started building this project back in early 2010 I didn't know to what extent I would push it but reading this forum was truly a guide. Coming from the euro world all the suppliers the best tuners were all new to me. Therefore I had to read a lot of threads ask other members questions. So yeah it was my cash but basically without a lot help from people on this forum this build would have not been impossible. And to think I only bought this car for a daily until I could find a brown M5 after I sold my MTM RS6! The G by far is the car I have enjoyed the most...

Some guys (and companies) will never ever get it no matter what anyone says. The worst part of it is not that they're doing it the wrong way, but that they are screwing it up for the rest of us. There's precious few enough quality choices as it is for our cars and they are running companies away form the platform and out of business. When all the quality choices are gone and the knockoff crap is all that's left, they'll be the first to moan and groan about no cool innovative designs.

I'm just messing, I love JDM products and even work at a Japanese company, I just don't buy them because the manuals never come in English haha
