Question on some pricing

I contacted a local shop to get some quotes on some upgrades to my car... I wanted to check with everyone on here to see if they thought they sounded reasonable. The only thing I'm not sure if is what their hourly rate is - but some of the install times seemed a bit high.

Fast Intentions Exhaust: $1300 plus shipping, Install is approx 3 hrs.

Fast Intentions HFCats: $500 plus shipping, Install is approx 3 hrs.

Stillen Dual Intake: $550 plus shipping, Install is approx 2.5 hrs

Up Rev's Osiris Tuner: $800 installed, Dyno Tuning $600

Window Tinting:

Huper Optik Ceramic Window Film

-Outstanding heat and UV rejection and aesthetics
-Will not affect radio/electronic reception
-Extremely durable
-Dramatically reduces fragmentation of glass in accidents
-Lifetime warranty on labor and film
$475 installed

Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

Wow 3 hours to install an exhaust! All those bolt-ons shouldn't take more than 1 hour to install. & avg price for tint that i've seen is $250 & thats on the high side

You can get your tint done a lot cheaper than that. Most shops offer a lifetime warranty unless you get illegal tint.
The exhaust is a good mod, and if you can get it to a hobby shop that has a lift, you can easily swap them out in under an hour. There are probably 8 bolts that you need to remove and then you just bolt and hang the new exhaust. While your at it the catalytic converters are right there, so you can just swap them out with the HFCs on the spot.
The intake is just as easy. Although with the Stillen Gen 3 you need to use a dremmel to make some adjustments to your car. Nothing too serious though. Doing these two mods yourself will save you $500 easily. I think you can get the intake for about $500 shipped too in the vendors section.

Only thing I may agree with is the HFC time. If you have miles on your car those bolts will be near impossible to get off and he's gonig to have to pad the number as insurance incase the tech breaks something during the install.....and be sure someplace nearby has an )2 sensor in stock just incase you need one. They don't like to come out either.

i agree on most of the stuff with you but a shop with exp and people who know what they are doing the 02 sensor you just have to be careful with it will come out without being damaged....But tell them ahead of time to be careful when they will be taking it out i had 10k miles on my car when i got the test pipes put on bolts came off pretty quick

well you have two options here IMO......

1. Call everyone back and laugh out loud at them in their face for such ridiculous quotes.
2. Give them all your money so they can laugh at you behind your back after you leave.

Ultimately it's up to you.....but I'd opt for #1, and have several times.

Here's a true-life example....I called many local shops to have my Eibach PK springs swapped in. One guy had the nerve to say they'd charge $577 to do the install because "the tech service quote manual was telling him it will take 6hrs to do...very complicated...we have to do this and do that...it's not an easy job". I LAUGHED IN HIS EFFIN FACE FOR SUCH HORSESH*T. Finally got in touch with a real shop locally who quoted me $195 for the same job and said I'd be in and out in about 2.5hrs...

good luck....I recommend you do the catback and intake installs yourself and save the cash for wheels or other mods.

i dont trust mechanic shops unless i know about them friend friends or something. I would never let a shop instal a stillen gen3. It makes me cringe thinking of some mechanic cutting away housing in my engine bay.
