Morning coffee and a little help for my fellow G owner. It won't be exactly straight but will be better for sure. From your pic above it looks like you mounted on the outside of the brace and it needs to go on the inside. Hope this helps!

Ok. Everything is put together as per instructions. It's the splash guard that's all mis-shapen. Hope I can get a new one. We will see how things go.

Typed back and forth with Josh for a bit. I need to take a pic of the splash shield so he can show his boss, and I should get a new one soon after that.

Taking the radiator cover off should give me enough room to take a pic, right?

 

anyone know the width of the pipe? 3 5 or 5 inches? and does anyone have pics of the holes that were cut to allow the tube to go in? i've seen some butchered jobs...

 

I think it's closer to 3.5".

There really isn't a way to trim the plastic inlets very cleanly, unless you take hours to do it. lol

The pipe is 2.5" wide and it does take a the right bit on the dremel/rotary tool to get it to look "okay". You will not see that area after.

 

I took my time doing it and it came out semi-clean. Just the nature of the plastic makes it difficult to get a clean cut...but the easiest way is to take the piping and a black magic marker and trace the outline of the piping. Then just use a dremel to cut that out (or add 1/8" or so)

 

Yup! A Sawzall helps too...

 

Ok... finally had time to replace the splash shield... Thanks Josh for the great customer service! Here's a pic of the old and new... I think you can all see what the deal was... lol

I don't have a dremmel, anybody else used other type of cutting tools? My intake just arrived yesterday but I'm out of town. I'll probably install it sunday and see how much a PITA to install this thing

 

Use a box cutter (blade) to cut out the plastic which is in the way of the tubing. Its thin enough, no need for a dremmel.

Yeah Josh was great throughout the whole short process.

A dremel tool would make it easier, but as Wlmngtn said, a box cutter would do the trick too.

 

man, maybe i should get a better box cutter because the one i have right now isn't doing anything.. LOL
