BLITZ throttle controller
lol.. i see you guys jumping up and down over this $350 gizmo ..when all its doing is pushing the pedal half way down for you when you press it half way... so yeah i would also be like damn the car is peppy because your only pressing the gas half way... and IT pushes it the rest of the way...

no but seriously i was under the impression that it overided the ecu's control over the TB ..but obviously it cant since its actions are before the ecu's control in the loop...so regardless how fast it opens the TB.. the ecu is still going to do whatever it wants.

shortens the throttle which makes opening quicker kind of like a 1/4 turn throttle on a motorcycle ....well at least thats part of what the blitz does the other has something to do with electrical signal to the ecu which is not my department.........this works awsome makes your car pull harder

not to but in but I've seen data that at 125mph the throttle position from the throttle bodies are around 88% open...
also by changing the rate at which the throttle bodies open verses the amount of throttle pedal you give....eliminated most of the lag you feel

oh maaaan! this is great!!!! I love "debates" !! im sitting here trying to figure out how this $350 gizmo is worth its $$ and my point exactly has been explained by uprev.
uprev - what about the claims that the product reduces or eliminates the laggy feeling? i know we are all programmed to expect the motor to react a certain way because how far we push the throttle. so if this product multiplies the distance the pedal is pushed i would feel the motor revs faster... BUT its revving a bigger distance, doesnt really mean the lag would technically dissaper since the ECU is still the bridge to the throttle body and ultimately has control over what happens.

Correct. You will feel your car accelerate as you push the pedal, if you push it farther it accelerates more. All this thing is doing, all it can do, is make the throttle pedal seem as those it's moving farther than it is. It reduces the control you have, it deludes your reaction to the acceleration and changes the way that the car reacts. I personally would find that unsafe, the lack of control over your car.
The throttle does close slightly at high RPM and this has to do with two things. One is safety and longevity. These are "sports cars" and Nissan is a big company. The fact that you would get less top end power as programmed from the factory is so that there is less wear and tear on the cars, and it reduces the stress on components. It's the same reason why the Altima gets the same VQ35 motor as the Z, yet makes less HP because they changed the cam profiles. It makes the car safer and the drivetrain last longer. Secondly modulation of the throttle plate can cause tumble in the air as it rushes past. This tumble may not reduce the volume or velocity of the air but it may help to cause turbulence that helps mix the air and fuel for better combustion.
Which of these two reasons Nissan has chosen to cause the throttle plate to close slightly on the top end is something that Nissan hasn't shared, but trust me they engineered it for a reason.
So far from what we've seen, the closing of the throttle at the upper RPM doesn't really hurt power unless you've gone Forced Induction, at which point both ideas are basically moot, as tumble can only hurt forced induction applications, and the stress caused by full power on the drive train has gone up by huge percentages.
ha maybe you both should contact blitz to get the technical info...and while your at it get one.....this product works! period! I've heard no complaints from the people that have it....jus complaints about price....boo hoo $350? my rear tire cost more than that....gotta pay to play...as for being mis-educated ....nope at least i shelled out the cash and have the product to make these claims...do you?? spreading misinformation on the forum?? come on give me a break....prove your point show us.....as for the cali people anyone want a ride?wanna race? auto or 6mt take your choice...see and feel for your self.....

) and make two 1/4 mile passes with the setting on ECO (normal) and on SP1. While it is assured it makes no more HP or TQ, how would it affect the perfromance in a known performance indicator?

but i also work full time on a race team and have some idea how these things work....10 years of building motors and running engine dynos...i dont program ecu's i leave that to the computer guy...worked with single butterfly throttle bodies and duel butterfly bodies as well..........as for the product..I dont think it stops the ecu from controlling anything...it enhances it....sending differant resistace readings to the ecu "tricking" it to add more fuel cause the throttle plate is in "this position" thus accelerating quicker......I'm not sure thou.....sorry no visual PROOF....like i said if you have the equipment to test please do it before saying there is no way this product works...or go to the source....or you could believe my BUTT DYNO

well I would looooove to test this somehow.. maybe do a before and after on the dyno to prove the more fuel theory since it will either make less power or gain power on the dyno... but yet wouldnt that be a strong marketing strategy for this unit, just doesnt make sense why blitz themselves state, this does not give you any HP and it wont make you any faster on the track .. so if were feeling the car that much faster.. where and how is this power being put down to the ground...unless its just the feeling of not pushing the deal all the way down.. lol

I think through all the different view points shown, what the Blitz does has gotten very distorted to the non-experts here. I'm no expert at all about tuning, and I know even though I have a few mods right now that the car isn't putting out the power it can since it hasn't been tuned. I bought the Blitz knowing well ahead of time that I wasn't gonna get more HP and not exactly knowing what it does, but I just went for it. I don't have a lot of $$$ to throw around and put into just any mod I see. Again, I'm no expert at all, I had a modded G35 and even though I'm already modding my 2nd G, I'm still learning more as I go. I do feel that the Blitz did what I was expecting it to do, which was eliminate the lag that was making the car feel really sluggish when I mashed the throttle to the floor. Going through all the different settings while driving, you can really tell a difference in each one. I do some spirited driving once and a while, especially when cruising with some of the SoCal guys to meets, and there's been a few time in which I'm trailing a car out of a parking lot and I step on it, and the car responds much later than I expect. I have a 5AT and when I'm set on SP3, I've had to shift quicker than I use to w/o the Blitz. This product probably isn't for everyone, but for those looking for a quicker response, throttle wise, I say it's worth it.
