I guess my question to you would be if you did leave those mods on, would the dealer care or charge you at the end of the lease? I guess thats what im worried about.

I heard from a dealership if you leave on any stillen aftermarket parts on the car, they will still take it. Other parts may vary.

I had put an Injen CAI in my g35 and when my lease was up I just took it to a body shop and they uninstalled it and put the OEM intake back in for 20 bucks. I am pretty sure that as long as nothing is permanent or any of the mods you have done damaged the car in any way, you should be fine.

Answer: the bank charges you for the "damages" to their car if you return it at the end of the term. This is disclosed in fact on the back of your lease contract. You can't (or should I say shouldn't) even remove the emblems or badging on the rear of the vehicle which I know is popular to do, but it's against your lease contract.

When you return the vehicle, you must return it in stock condition as when you drove away originally. It's silly IMO to totally "mod out" a leased vehicle as you lose the money you put in just to take it all out and return to stock, but really the choice is yours and it's your money to spend if that's how you choose to do so.

Then why is it that i asked one of your salesman "George ISF" and he said that painting the grill, debagding, and such wont affect me when i bring the vehicle back in?

yeah it shouldent be a big deal with mods, but if so u can always strip all mods before.. im most likely going to buy my lease out, unless they have my same exact car for a cheaper price better condition n miles, which i highly doubt... im not worried about having a modded g when my term comes to an end.

Yeah every dealer is different. When I leased mine I asked about window tinting and he said it just depends on where you take it back but as long as it is reasonably close to your states limits there isn't a problem. Dont know about any other stuff. I'd assume its just whether the dealer wants to try to sell a car with mods or not.

I agree with the "every dealer is different", comment.

I know for a fact that North Houston Infiniti (once upon a time) had a used G35 with aftermarket exhaust, CAI, wheels, lowering springs and a few other mods on their showroom floor. They were actually including those mods in the asking price for the G! No lie. Seriously it was used and pushing $40k.

I've also seen at least 1 G37 at Houston's Southwest Infiniti with the Stillen aftermarket exhaust and other work on it.

My belief is that as long as the dealership endorses the product (such as Stillen in most cases) it should be ok.

Bumping an old topic for new responses.

Has anyone had a problem come lease turn in on a modded lease or with Service for that matter when maintenance is performed?

it is not up to the dealers to tell you if Infiniti will take the car back with certain mods. I would bring it back to stock before returning the car. There is a inspection that you have to get done before your return the car. Any dealer can take the car back in any condition you return it to them in. they dont care. its when infiniti gets there hands on it when it hits there local warehouse. they may send you a bill. tints are fine. they like that. sells the car faster at auction.
