Haha, I'm just looking at the trip as all about experiences and I may not have another chance sometime soon to go ***** to the wall in my Sedan other than power cruise this year. Being able to run it up to redline or as fast as it will go is quite appealing to me. I want to check some shiz off my bucket list

So I'm trying to be a little proactive about my new title for finding gas and I was thinking we should be able to go about 400 miles or so between fill ups, that would factor in some less than favorable gas mileage at 25mpg with 18 galls. But I thought that would be enough to stop and get something to eat and go to the bathroom. It's about 997 miles from Lance's house on 494 to Fontana Village Resort in North Carolina. I will look ahead to plan some places to stop that are as of now and closer to cheaper and better on gas/or better octane for what we are paying for.

Shell - 1389 Dundee Ave - Elgin, IL - Illinois Gas Prices
Here is the first one we can stop at, it's a bit smaller than we might prefer but also 25 to 30 cents cheaper than the other places.....and I've been to this one for work once. Decent place and shell has some good gas. I will do some more planning and post them up. Locations will be saved and I will add it to our list of itenerary so everyone has it As of now, gas is $4.51 for premium

Here is the 2nd place that is about 400 miles from Elgin IL, Gas is currently 4.07 for premium here which will be pretty similar to what ours is. I will have the addresses printed and layed out for people so they can see where they are just in case, but I know we will all have walkies at the same times.

Speedway - 2301 Paris Pike - Lexington - North, KY - Lexington Gas Prices

Mike can you call ahead of time to get the degree of angle going into the gas stations as well to make sure we can all clear getting in . Just kidding mike, sounds like a plan man! Good work .

Another thing to think about since we are driving during their stormier season in the southeast, we should maybe map out all the locations of gas stations in case we get severe weather while driving through. Would be nice to be able to pull under an overhang to avoid any heavy rain or hail... I'm sure lance will have some portable air bubble he can place around his car to protect it from all the elements

Haha, we should have NO problem at the one in Elgin, that was a pretty easy ramp and just a block off the main drag. I will say this tho...those of us that have smart phones all of this information (prices, locations, pictures and such) is available through the gasbuddy app. So check that out and use that, certainly helps me out now and then!

Just don't stretch us too much on gas, should be one of the last things we have to worry about. My mileage can range anywhere from 20mpg up to about 26 mpg.

Estimate about 350 between stops, keep in mind our bowel movements

Yea I'm half tempted to just find a place on the fly as we are driving, but we will see. Maybe I will shoot for closer to 350. I wasn't going to go any farther than 400 between stops and if we are doing 80 on the interstate then that might be more realistic...

Then lets stop here....its 366 miles away and we should have no clearance issues! It's outside of lexington too so it should be a bit cheaper too
