I think the next gen G is going to be a very good performer. It has a pretty athletic stance and of course, tuned on the nurburgring lol

^^^ Well if it's tuned on the nurburgring then BMW doesn't stand a chance come 2013

Haha we will see, I drove an X3 back from Plymouth last Friday and it was quite pleasant actually, the engine was pretty smooth which would be one grip with the G. But I don't mind too much cuz everything is fully functional unlike iDrive crap lol. But yes I'm also hoping the new G performs a bit better and has some extra options for fuel mileage. I would like to get my 18s back on and see how the mileage is on the highway, since my 20s can get 26/27 I'm sure I could get almost 30 with the smaller wheels and rubber. Should be interesting!

My 18s have not been getting the same mileage as my 19s. I almost wonder if since the diameter is off on bigger wheels if that some how affects the mileage. With my 18s on I cant really budge it past 26.5 on the highway doing nearly 80, and it doesn't want to really go over 30 at 60-70. At that speed it hovers around 27-28. If theres a headwind and im going home the car can definitely be in the 23ish-mpg range. This is all way down from when i had my 19s on. I could push better numbers with those wheels than my 18s. 23 was unimaginable on the highway.

I am hoping the new G is rated at 30-33mpg hwy. I would be way pleased with that. The new car is apparently being tuned more towards a 'european' taste. So maybe closer to that of the 3 series. I really hope they put wider tires on it to. 225s are really weak nowadays in the sports sedan class.

Its that 5AT with the AWD. My friend is ecstatic if he gets over 24mpg in his 08 AWD on the highway.

The new G37x with the 7AT do MUCH better in terms of MPGs on the highway. Those two extra gears make all the difference. They get what I get.

Well if you'd have just left your exhaust and Gen 2 intakes on that would help. I'm assuming you've already taken that into account but that would be part of the problem with it. My M was rated at 22ish on the highway and I consistently got over 25, with my 20s I got 23 mpg doing 80 down in AL lol
