I was in St. Louis in 1994. We lived on the west side in Ellisville and commuted in. The traffic is terrible and there seems to be a permanent a$$hole convention on the roads. We really liked all the city parks for running in after work (Queenie, Rockwoods, etc). There are some great restaurants and if you like to shop, you're in heaven.

The traffic was the only thing we really didn't like. The west side is definitely the best place to live. Now might be a better time to move while the real estate market is still a buyers market. The place is overrun with expensive cars. Your G will be what the high school kids drive there!

We moved here ~4 years ago, okay if you like suburbia living. Plenty to do around here, and the weather is generally okay. I second Pip on the bad drivers; our truck driver warned us they were some of the worst he had seen, and he drove on the east coast a lot.

You've got the Cubs, Gateway Raceway. and a decent amount of car stuff around, although the clubs aren't near as active as on the coasts.

We live out on the west side, and I'd recommend something off 70 to the west if your job would be on the northeast side. We have lots of people that drive in from Illinois if you want to live in a small town and drive.

thanks for the recommendations, i will keep them in mind if i decide to go. i’m not worried about the real estate market either, the company would pay for my living arrangements (for the most part).
