Chassis Numbers - Japan Domestic Car - How To Read Year.

I've got a problem with a Nissan Skyline Coupe (G35).

Its a JDM (Japan Domestic Market) car which has been
imported into Malaysia.

It does not have the VIN serial number system which
is the standard for cars entering the USA , ie where
you can decipher alot of info from the 17 numbers/
digits.

Is there a way to make out the year of manufacture from
the JDM numbers appearing on the plate?

I need this info to determine whether the car comes
within the bracket of cars needing recall on the crank
position sensor.

Thanks.

isn't there a tag/plate in the engine bay? have you tried looking in the door jam for it? i don't think the license plate will hold that info.
