Weak backfire

I have a 7at with high flow cats and a muffler delete, I’ve seen other gs that backfire like gunshots with a stock tune. Mine is more like a poof rather than a pop if that makes sense. Is there any reason in specific it would be like this??

From what I know backfire is when you have a timing issue and missed explosion and can cause your carburetor to catch fire.

From what I understand you are talking about a flamemap.the reason you are not getting that pop or bang is because of your HFCS.unless you replace them with test pipes you will have to kill them by running that map. They are soaking up the extra fuel and muffling the sound as its coming out.
if you keep doing it you will eventually ruin them and the pieces should come out the exhaust system. So as long as you have cats you probably wont get the sound your looking for.

I assume you had a tune. I guess that would be a better place to start. the popS dont usually happen on a stock tune. Extra fuel is required on a custom tune to get that result

Backfires are not a good thing. Anyone that sets up a tune to backfire on purpose is a moron.
