Dimensions of helmholtz resonator on Motordyne

Hi, I was wondering if anyone with the Motordyne Shockwave exhaust system could measure the dimensions of the helmholtz / quarter wave resonator at the end of the exhaust (the big can).

reason being I have drone and I want to attach the same effective device to my exhaust to beat down on the drone

greatly appreciated

I don't know the full science behind tuning an exhaust with helmholtz but remember reading that the length of the resonator and location is based on the the drone range in the rpm and frequency you are targeting.

not sure how Shawn decided the location and dimension of my resonator but my exhaust does't have any drone.

^^ That's a pretty sweet looking exhaust. Custom?

I feel like single exit exhausts perform the best for mid range and up top

Does your car have good pick up on the lower rpms? (below 3k rpm)

It did for sure, feeling wise, no dyno to back me up. I originally started out with a Top Speed exhaust. The diameter at the y inlet and dual piping were 2.375" if i remember correctly. I then switched to a Motordyne exhaust, 3.0" merge then dual 3.0" al the way back. I didn't feel any difference during driving. Siwtching from the dual 3.0" to my current 3.5" single was very noticeable. My wife also noticed it too.

^^ You had the Motordyne Shockwave system? Are you on HFC's or test pipes or just stock cats?

yea, I had it with anti-reversion test pipes.

hmm so you're saying that single 3.5 inch is the way to go...

i wouldn't recommend 3.5". I only did this because i was planing for boost and wanted the extra head room. If you want to go single exit, i would suggest sticking with the standard 3.0"

i went with a dual resonated y pipe after the purchase of that exhaust. its a matching 3.5" with 3" inlets. The inlets are way bigger than i'd like but he had a hard time making the transition with the resonators.

I'm considering swapping out the current resonator in the mid pipe for something longer but will way until I get my engine up and running to hear how it currently sounds.
