Just got ISR Y-pipe installed on my 13' G with FI RHFC + Stock Midpipe + HKS Axleback.
The problem I ran into is that....I did not realize the Y-pipe gasket to midpipe is 3" and the stock midpipe gasket is 2.5"....sounds terrible at moment.
any suggestions on fixing the issue? without buying a new exhaust set up?
Hope it works out - keep us updated. It's been problematic between limited Y and mid-pipe options for sedans, especially when most have a 3 inch outlet (probably intended for single-exit)
OP, any update on what you ended up doing? I'm in a similar boat. Have Z1 HFC --> stock Y pipe (flanges are almost disintegrated and I need to replace the Y pipe ASAP) --> stock mid pipe --> Tanabe mufflers
Car actually sounds relatively okay right now with some slight rasp/exhaust leak from where the stock Y pipe is breaking apart. I've considered the Circuit Werks Resonated XYZ pipe (on eBay, which looks like a knock-off of Motordyne's resonated XYZ pipe) since the resonation is supposed to help eliminate any rasp, but I'm not sure if it fits the AWD sedan. I'm also not sure about the quality compared to Motordyne, but it looks like that seller has sold 132 of them.
I currently can't seem to find the AWD version of Motordyne's resonated XYZ pipe for sale anywhere.
Here's photos of the two:

Like you, I also considered ISR or Megan Y pipes but I feared what you've described would happen, which is terrible rasp when either of those un-resonated Y pipes are mated with a stock mid pipe since the connection there is 3" --> 2.5" like you mentioned.
What did you end up doing? New, bigger mid pipe? Custom route? Sold the car (haha)?

Flanges Flanges Flanges. 90% chance that they are bent. Flat sanding will help the gaskets tremendously, still the 1/2 inch in difference will try to leak as it's disintegrating the parts that are exposed.
To maximize the setup you should have a muffle shop weld a better flange to what you have and you'll be fine.
