Unbolting muffler + tips

Is it a smart idea to unbolt the muffler + tips and just leave it like that? Picked up my Q60s coupe a few days ago and the sound is euphoric. I have a friend that has a G37 coupe and he suggested to just unbolt the part that connects the muffler and tips to test out if I like the sound of a muffler delete. Does doing this harm the car at all? I’m new to modding in general, but it seems like this isn’t the smartest thing to do.

It won't hurt the car but it's illegal. Exhaust must exit at the edge of the vehicle to prevent any from possibly of it being sucked into the passenger compartment.

Ah okay thank you, that makes sense. Do you still think it’s worth it to unbolt them and drive around for 10-15 mins to get a feel for the sound?
