Question Calsonic Muffler Question

I was under my G today and I noticed the muffler was stamped with "Nissan Calsonic Kansei". I've probed around for information but have found very little about the company Calsonic that Nissan, at the time, had a stake in. The car is a 08' G37S Coupe and I'm the second owner. Can anyone provide some information on these mufflers or if it's even a catback exhaust?

Your probing was very shallow. Google quickly found a Wiki article about Calsonic Kansei. For awhile, Nissan owned 41% of the company. The article lists the industries in which Calsonic did business, among them were exhaust systems. Looks like an OEM muffler, to me.

*Sigh*...Thanks for the sarcastic reply... I read a few articles via google including the wiki article about the company and the products they made. I just wasn't sure if Nissan used their exhaust as OEM for the G37S coupe...You've been SUPER helpful

So, you're looking for someone from within Nissan to flat out tell you, "yes, we used Calsonic as our exhaust system manufacturer"?

To my knowledge, there is no one from Nissan on this board.

Yes, yes I am...lol I just figured that out of the hundreds of people that use this forum someone would be able to give me an exact answer. There wasn't a direct black and white answer I could find online that stated Nissan used calsonic for their sports OEM exhaust so I inquired online.

Calsonic has been on every stock Nissan muffler I've seen since at least the mid 90s. I'll check my 95 hardbody when I get home this weekend

This is in fact an oem exhaust. If I recall correctly I believe my q50s stock exhaust was the same as well.
