Unhappy ARK GRiP CBE... Disappointed

Hello everyone! I recently purchased a G37 Sport and installed an ARK GRiP CBE. The car is catless and also has intakes. Unfortunately, this setup is not loud enough for my liking. Before buying the G, I drove a 370z with a custom straight pipe exhaust from the cats back. And believe when I tell you, that thing was loud. And that's what I was hoping for when purchasing this ARK exhaust, especially after dropping all of that money. I hate to say it but I'm not satisfied... So, what do you all think about me removing the y-pipe resonators and having pipes welded in place of them? Will this give me the volume I'm looking for? What are my options? I really love the look of this exhaust, so I don't want to sell it and have a straight pipe exhaust built. Any input would be appreciated!

Sounds like you need to buy a Honda

But if you want loud, x pipes, test pipes, and muffler deletes will all increase exhaust volume.

Maybe you should have went with motordyne.

Remove resonators from x pipe for increased sound. I think I've seen some people do that for gains. Think it was linked in one of the admin intake threads.

I have to say I agree with the disappointment with the Ark exhaust. It looks 10/10 with the canisters but I have no other words to describe it other than......muffled. I have it paired with a set of HFC and I'm still slightly disappointed.

My first exhaust set up was a simple top speed axleback (so a muffler delete with OEM cats) and it was louder and sounded more aggressive than my current set up (Ark CBE + HFC). My favourite tone was HFC + muffler delete but it was just a bit too loud (but pretty aggressive sounding and noticeable gurgles).

I'll agree with others that loud doesn't necessarily mean good because I've heard some straight piped VQs and they sound just absolutely terrible, but I'm definitely wanting something louder and more aggressive sounding than what I have now. Thinking of switching to Motordyne if a deal ever comes up but being in Canada means around 3K+ if I were to order new and it's difficult to justify that price lol

Coming from an ARK exhaust and now owning a Motordyne E370, the MD is much louder. The ARK is deeper I feel like while the MD is more exotic sounding.

If you wanted loud, I would've gone for the Motordyne or GTHAUS as they are the loudest but quality exhaust systems. Next in line comes FI, Ark, Etc.

Update: DO NOT remove your resonators and mufflers from your ARK exhaust. I made the mistake of having my exhaust guy remove my resonators and mufflers and replace them with pipe. I was running test pipes and straight pipes to the tips. If you're thinking about doing this, it's a mistake. The car was obnoxiously loud. Like an awful loud. The entire car vibrated violently when driving. I didn't even want to be near the car during a cold start. LUCKILY, that same week, I went back and was able to successfully reinstall the ARK resonators and mufflers, so everything is back to normal. I threw about $300 down the drain. Please learn from my mistake and just appreciate your nice exhaust system. As mentioned above, loud does not always mean better. Just updating so no one does the same thing I did. You will regret it believe me.

if anything you should have removed the mufflers and left the hemholtz chambers..

Test pipes on the VQ37 make it hella raspy, going into the X pipe with resonators helps to reduce the rasp but not much.

I’ve been planning on removing the resonators from the y pipe while keeping the mufflers and helmholtz resonators. I’m really curious on how it would sound
