Tool to make catalytic converter removal easier

Has anyone tried to use a torque adapter box end wrenches to remove the catalytic converter to header bolts? I used the tried and true method with a 3' extension and a 14mm quality snap-on flexible joint socket.

I've moved on to a different car that has a similar, hard to reach bolt and a company called AWE makes a small tool to facilitate the removal of that one difficult bolt. So the demon bolt is not exclusive to the Infiniti, LOL. They basically machine a torque adapter wrench. You can buy entire sets, in metric, and I'm sure it would negate the need to go from the engine bay and you'd be able to do everything underneath the car.

I ended up buying a set from Amazon as the AWE tool, with shipping, came out to over $50.

Amazon Amazon

Just thought it might help. You may be able to just purchase one 14mm torque adapter wrench off of eBay. I thought it'd be nice to have a set.

Hope this helps!

demon bolt, cat removal, high flow cats, hfc, test pipe, headers

Lol, my exhaust bolts don't even have heads on them anymore. They just rusted themselves round. If i ever have to take the cats off it's gonna be with a chisel and a power drill

Let bolt soak with some lube or use torch to heat up and cool down to break off

These actually work pretty well. The Audi I'm working on now has the same three bolts, right up next to the cat, one in an impossible spot to actually remove.

And you can find 6pt. versions too. So there you go.
