Mishimoto Silicone Air Intake Hose Kit
Budget CAI
Only thing, by the time you do silicone tubes and drop in filters like aFe you're pretty close to a used Stillen G3 or Takeda.
I couldn't tell a butt dyno difference between stock, post MAF tubes & aFe filters, and Takeda long tubes. The Takeda sounds the best, by far.

I'm trying to avoid a open air element type system as much as possible.
Hoping a slicker air surface will generate a cleaner stream of velocity opposed to the ribbing of the stock pipes, while trying to prevent as much filter dirt by pass as i can within reason or is this a crazy idea.
I'm hoping to keep the car for a few years then give it to my daughter to use, so i'm attempting to balance of more power per say ( me having fun ), but also longevity of the car as much as possible as well.
Being in the Boston area, and also residing in a beach area with our wonderful winter weather, and all the other crap that goes with the area i get concerned about foreign deposit buildup etc etc. Maybe i'm being too cautious, i blame A&P school :-)

I went with these filters:
R2C PF10544 Black Hex replacement filter - 09+ Nissan 370z
havent run the MAF tubes yet, but I thought about it

I have the CZP silicone tubes and HKS filters which I transferred over from my Z. The fit is very tight. Some have reported needing to trim them a bit to get them to fit. I'd say try to avoid that if at all possible.
