Resonated Test Pipe Brands
I'm planning on doing resonated test pipes shortly prior to dyno tuning my 2010 G37X Coupe this April. While looking up resonated test pipes, I've found 3 types that I'm interested in:
-Fast Intentions Resonated Test Pipes 380$
G37 Coupe Resonated Test Pipes, Fast Intentions
-TopSpeed Pro-1 Resonated Test Pipes 180$

-1320 Performance Resonated Test Pipes w/Reversion Chambers 160$
http://www.ebay.com/itm/301761971072?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AITObviously the FI resonated pipes are most widely known and popular, however has anyone tried the other 2? They're half the cost and seem just as good. I have the TopSpeed axleback and i'm very happy with it, however i'm not sure if the test pipes work just as well...
Also, will these all hookup to aftermarket Y-pipes the same? Does anyone have any recommendations for Ypipes or if mid pipes are the better choice. Thank you all in advance!

AAM Competition also makes test pipes that sit in the middle of the two you mentioned in terms of price at $265.99. These will be the ones I go with - primarily because my friend works there and I trust his opinion.

My vote goes to Fast Intentions.
I went with Fast Intentions.
I'm unsure about if it's the same for the coupe. However, AWD in the Sedan limited my options and no one seemed to want to guarantee fitment for the AWD. however, Fast Intentions did.
However, what caused me to pick Fast Intentions was a few things:
-great on the phone service, very knowledgable.
-made to order in t304 steel.
-customizable
I went with 2.5 inch resonated test pipes as opposed to 2.25 to line up with the exhaust,

Have the OBX, but I think they copied Fast Intentions too closely and may be the reason you can't get them anymore. The Fast Intentions use the elongated and counter flow O2 port (it's what the OBX also uses) and this doesn't throw CEL codes. I've been running mine for about 25k miles now w/ no codes thrown.
So I'd vote Fast Intentions from that list, and if the AAM uses that type O2 port I'd consider them too.

No doubt. I don't trust them for a second but my buddy who worked there wouldn't leave me high and dry. He let me in on a lot of the dirty little secrets; including the trash IM they put out that was insanely priced but cost all of $200 to make with hardly any R&R behind it; which is why it was delayed for so long...

I just looked at FI's website and compared it to Z1motorsport's website and on Z1 it says for offroad use only, not for legal use on the highways and roads. Does installing the test pipes make your car fail the State Emission testing? FI's website does not bring that up at all.
States that do a visual inspection, yes it will fail... but not every shop is that vigilant, or cares.
States that don't require a visual inspection for cats... nope. No worries.
In my experience, as long as you aren't throwing a CEL you'll be good to go. I had a horrible leak (test every two years in MD) last time I went; smelled awful and my car was still passed.
