Finally making a full thread for those wanting to build a full exhaust and not wanting to do the aftermarket exhausts available.
I do know exhausts are all personal preference but besides owning a PhoQs single exit, a meisterschaft or Ark full exhaust I am completely happy with my setup.
Hopefully this is informative and helpful! Let me know if you have any questions on building your own!
Parts list:
-Fast Intentions Non-resonated HFCs
-Magnaflow Resonated X-pipe 2.25" in and out
-2.25" piping from Cats to Tips.
-Magnaflow 12225 2.25" oval mufflers
- NSX exhaust tips
and a clip to finish it off, not exactly how it sounds like in person but close:
Well the key to any custom exhaust is finding a shop that uses good products yet gives you a cost effective install. This is the fourth setup ive had fabbed up on cars (only main one for my G) and most expensive by far. I had to use a new shop since I moved and they do a great job but price wise was way higher than I am used to paying. Parts wise though I will happily share.
FI HFCs - $510 for hand made cats built to order, extremely happy and best cats ive ever bought.
Resonated Magnaflow X-pipe 11385: $80 shipped
2x Magnaflow 1225 mufflers: $120 shipped for both
NSX tips (used): $70 shipped
If you can hunt the internet well this is by far the most cost effective way to build IMO.
BTW coupe will sound better and cheaper since it would need a single in and dual out muffler, this seems to always sound better imo than sedans with the duals.
So I'm assuming you did the piping/welding yourself?
No, I wish I could have ha. The pipe bender is the major necessity. I used to be pretty decent in High school with welding when I was taking my classes and probably could have done an adequate job but didn't feel like practicing on my own car.
I had a shop in KC do it locally and since they did it in two parts (axle back setup first) then axles back for piping, flex couplers, and tubing for the second parts with the cats I can't remember the exact cost for labor and install but they did a great job.
Nice job, looks like you found about the most efficient way to get a true dual w/ quality HFCs. Sounds good too! Need a rolling sound clip, the Gs always sound better under load.
Wow, that sounds great! Like really good, probably my favorite setup yet. I think you just convinced me to go to custom route, but with my.Tanabe and Berks HFC instead.

Yeah. The only thing holding me back was what if it sounds like crap lol.

I was a little nervous of the same thing but always considered it a learning curve and thought that if I didnt like the sound I am sure I could change something and it would sound better.
If you like this setup but are worried about rasp, use a H-pipe or Y-pipe and it will have a little less rasp then this, you can also get resonated HFCs from FI and do resonators too.

I would have done the same but I assumed they would just add them to the piping and bolt it up instead of cutting the flange off and welding the tubing to it.
