Thinking seriously about An Invidia Gemini cat back

Anybody have one?

I am looking for a deep tone and a good look at the rear.
I don't want to lose power, but I have no interest in gaining power.

My impression of the system is that while it looks good, and is priced good, it doesn't really have the deep sound of even some axle backs.....

Am I wrong? Or what?

If you are just looking for a deeper tone, just get an intake and maybe do a resonator delete. If you not going for HP then that should probably do it. With that said I am not sure how annoying a resonator delete would be for this car. My last car had none, a full exhaust and intake and it sounded great. I did it in stages so I know the intake made my exhaust note a little deeper. Each car responds differently so I am not 100% on this, but that would be the route I'd go.

I have today ordered an Invidia Gemini Cat back. I have researched, listened, and PMd folks.
Hopefully this will work for me.

The consensus is that it is a bit louder than stock at idle/partial throttle and retains the "VQ" sound. Sounds like just what i am looking for.
NO drone. VERY important and why I didn't want to throw pieces parts at it. I have done that in the past and gotten drone as a result.

a good bit Louder and a small 10RWHP gain at WOT. That's fine. I would only use WOT if I needed to go NOW.

An intake is next on the agenda. Probably an R2C. But, I will research that also.

Thanks.

Got my Invidia Gemini.
Took a few extra days to get here due to the weather up north.

Had it installed by Meinike. They did the Borla on my Tbird. They know how.
They were very high on the invidia. They had heard of them but hadn't seen one. High quality and perfect fitment. They estimated cost of $1200. Very surprised that it cost $850 inc shipping. They charged me $100 inc tax to install.
Did it in less than an hour and rewrapped the OEM system with the Packing from the Invidia including the hardware.

This system Looks GOOD. Nice finish, Nice Welds.

Sound is slightly more muted than I wanted.
Will it get louder? (I know "some" do)

Why does it seem to be quicker? Just a mind trick because it IS a bit louder? Doesn't seem that without a SRI/CAI it would add enough HP to "feel"......

Talking about that......next mod will be one of the above. Probably SRI as I don't want/need a difficult install.

Tunerz gets my Reco. Very easy deal.

I like my Invidia Catback. I have the Q300 though, but I believe it's very similar in sound to the Gemini. The tone on my car is deep at startup and warmup and then it becomes quiet once warmed up. It has a mildly deep tone when cruising and giving it a little gas or throttle blips. At WOT it sounds nice. I've had several people say my setup sounds tuned like a well tuned performance cars exhaust. I like that. In the future I will likely step up to a slightly louder exhaust like FI or maybe even ARK, but would need to ensure there is no major clearance issue to deal with as I'm in the middle of a suspension build.

I also highly recommend Tunerz Store. I got a great deal with them when I did my Akebono BBK, Invidia Gemini cat-back, and R2C black nickel SRI.

When I first started my G after installation of the gemini, I wasn't too impressed but now love the exhaust. In my opinion it has the perfect volume inside and outside of the vehicle. Inside with the windows up during regular driving, it's loud enough to know its there but not annoy you. With windows down you definitely enjoy it, especially at WOT.

The R2C sound only adds to the great sounds. If you are looking for a SRI, I would go with R2C...easy install, easy maintenance.

Similar to upscale, I've had several pepole compliment the setup and even had a guy follow me until we were next to each other at a stoplight to ask about the exhaust.

So are you going to take the plunge and get it? The quality of the exhaust components are very good. This is a system that should last over 10 years no problem. Maybe a lot longer. My only gripe is the burnt tips. I do not like them. I will be getting them swapped out in the near future at my local exhaust shop.

The exhaust note with the fi hfcs is great. No rasp very deep but not loud. It's definitely louder than stock though

Not at all. No hissing at all. It's a very clean sounding setup. There is mild drone at times, but it's not loud or annoying at all.
