Test pipes???

So I installed my mystery set of resonated test pipes last week , I say mystery because seller thought they were Megan but wasn't 100% but I took a chance for 125$ . All I can say is I hate the sound of it ! I don't know where to go with this now . This past weekend I went and bought a k&n typhoon intake system and that helped a little bit .at idle and low rpms it sounds decent and has a nice sound but when u stomp on it it revs up and screams/ sounds like a 92 civic with a big chrome fart can under it lol! Any ideas on what I could do to help this? Do I go with a CBE ? Do I ditch these test pipes and call it a loss and move on ? Put the stock cats back in and just go with a CBE? Never thought I would have this hard of a decision with exhaust lol! I'm used to just tossing on magnaflows on my v8 cars and jeeps and loving the sound no matter what .

Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated !
My budget is about 800ish maybe a tad higher

Thanks again !

Not to stir up an old debate, but in that test pipes are illegal for street use in the USA, I agree that you should do the right thing and just ditch them.

You may want to check out Fast Intentions and go with a resonated HFC. They add a lot of deep tone to the exhaust. I posted a video of my recently installed RHFC's if you'd like to check it out, but I also have the FI CBE.

Rochester installed FI RHFC's and has the stock exhaust for the time being. Are you planning on going with a CBE later down the road?

Add a decent catback first, if you don't like the sound then ditch them.

The stock note is not the best to be amplified.

Fast Intentions FTW! Give Lance a call. They are more expensive but SO worth it. I didn't do mine all in one spend either. Paid on it over time while it was in production so that makes it an even more attractive option.

Aw, bummer but I definitely understand that. You may want to check out Top Speed. If memory serves me correct, Blnewt is rocking that setup and likes it quite well. The price is pretty nice on the Top Speed as well from what I understand.

I would PM 1CleanG on the pricing for RHFC's. Maybe a few people could get together and see if there are any group buy opportunities there.
