Is it normal for Tanabe tips to be extremely hot?

Ok so this might be a silly question. But I just installed my tanabe axle back and mid pipe and took it for a short test drive. I noticed that the exhuast tips are extremely hot where as the stock tips never really got hot like this. Is this normal for the tanabe coupe axle back?

Hot gases flow out the exhaust system. Thus, the exhaust becomes hot. The stock tips are more decoration than anything, but they too will become hot. Don't get any ideas here.....

Thanks I wasn't sure because the stock ones were always cool. Was just worried about it causing problems with the paint since its so close to the bumper there.

Don't worry about the paint as long as the tips don't touch the bumper itself. I have had tanabe and had zero problems... Yes, tips do get hot, but all exhausts do... lol

Yup, Tanabe exhaust tips get pretty hot because they are directly welded to the muffler and are made of thicker metal - I've noticed this as well. The stock chrome tips were more or less a part that went around a thin pipe that was welded to the body of the muffler.
