Takeda CAI Tubing Size
Takeda CAI Tubing Size
I have done a large amount of reading on which intake system to go with and I believe I have made up my mind on running a Takeda CAI over all of the others. One big factor that I like about this kit is not having to hack away on the frame like the Stillen gen 3 kit in case of resale of the car. My question is if anyone knew off hand what size tubing the Takeda system comes with? My intention is to have the tubing connected to the air filter and the bend be about 0.5" diameter larger than the tube connecting to the throttle body, creating a nozzle effect. If anyone has any comments or knows the tubing sizes of the Takeda CAI kit, that would be great. Thanks

From my experience with the Takeda, the intake tubing is the same diameter as the throttle body inlet.
That being said, I sold the Takeda to experiment with the Stillen Gen 3 and never looked back.

OP good luck with any decision on your intake purchase. Hopefully you have the opportunity to see both in person, which would make your decision a lot easier as to build quality.
In regards to "hack away the frame", the Gen 3 installation just requires mild enlarging of a pre-existing area of the composite front core support, just enough to allow the piping to slide through. Here is an image, on the right side you'll see the small area that is enlarged:

Even put back to stock, you can't see this area with the stock airboxes. I can't tell you how many people that have purchased a Gen 3 for their used vehicle and been surprised that the enlarging was already there, as the original car had Gen 3's installed but removed before the sale.
