Replacement muffler?
Replacement muffler?
Does anyone know if you replace the OEM muffler if you will get a louder sound from the exhaust? I really want to make the exhaust louder, but I can't justify spending a lot of money on getting a whole new exhaust. Any thoughts?
You could just get the 'sport muffler' directly from Infiniti (made by Nismo I believe)...don't have to worry about any weird tune issues. It's about the same sound at idle, but under heavy acceleration it's a bit throatier/deeper/louder...without any extra drone.

You're welcome to do that, but again...there will be performance changes. Most likely, you will lose a little low-end torque. That seems to be the general consensus with the catback systems here. You originally posted you wanted a louder muffler...didn't mention wanting to spend more money on a full exhaust. I'm sure you can haggle the price or find a gently used one somewhere.

Yeah, I'm looking for more of a louder exhaust than performance, eventually I want to do more performance oriented, but right now I'm just looking for sound enhancement with out spending a ton of money
you can remove the resonators and replace them with vibrant resonators. summit racing has them for $47 each. I have tanabe axle back and just replaced my resonators and man does it sound good now!
