I like that idea. That might sound good.

The only thing is that if it does NOT sound good......then you would need to get the resonators replaced and welded back in.

i remember when i was selling my ark, the guy who was buying it had the tanabe. i asked if i could listen to it and yeah, it is REALLY quiet. maybe a tad louder than stock. i asked if the ark was plenty loud enough and he said it was haha.

A y-pipe and no resonators should do the trick.

So far the best exhaust I have heard is the Berk HFCs with Tanabe (user wakeboarder on youtube). Sorry but the ARK and most others I've heard sound like ricer trash. I have noticed it's pretty hard to get a decent sound out of the VQ and takes an interesting combination of exhaust components.

I can't find any sound clips of someone with the FI resonated HFCs and exhaust, but im hoping that sounds better as well without the high pitched rice sound and rasp.

Installed the Stillen hfc and found that the y pipe was raspy or canny.
I added the Megan y pipe and that made a big differnce.

for me i went with a larger diameter mid and y pipes, but if your mufflers has small diameter inlets there is no use in increasing the DIAMETER of the pipes and then reduce it again when it comes to enter the mufflers since the flow rate will be the same. if this is the case and you have a small diameter pipes i suggest removing the resonated section on your mid pipes it will give you more flow and it will be louder.

Ended up getting a Megan Racing Y-pipe paired with Top Speed Pro-1 exhaust.

Here's a clip right after installation:
