I have the fi rhfc and their exhaust with 18" res. I want more sound. I'm thinking of ordering the berks hfc and selling my rhfc. My only dilemma is everything is 2.25". Will adding the 2.5" berks cause any rasp??

With the stock exhaust, the RHFCs barely changed the volume. The Berks were much more noticable but came with some rasp. I went from RHFCs to Berks then back to RHFCs and now welded in a coupe midpipe to give me a little more volume with the shorter resonators. I'm still wishing the RHFCs were just a bit louder.
THIS! This is exactly what I was looking for in an answer, I think I will go for a regular hfc for the extra sound. Thanks a million

I agree with those numbers and that assessment.

FI RHFC + OEM catback takes a zero and ups it to two out of ten. That's why I think the resonated cats are a good match for aftermarket catbacks... less risk for rasp. But if all you do is pair it with the OEM catback (like I did for a year) you get a noticeable and welcome bump in grunt, without all the noise.

Im running the BERK HFC + Ark CBE, when it was first installed it was loud and raspy (sorta)
After about 2 weeks or so (still not fully broken in IMO), the exhaust note is intoxicating but in comparison.
Stock Cats + Ark = Refined Sound (not as loud as i wanted)
BERK HFC + Ark = 30%-40% more raw? but Ark manages to keep its growl.

Things to note, Berk HFC when cold (even after warm up) the first few revs/first few shifts if you hit 3-5K RPMS theres a tin can sound. But goes away after its been warmed/less noticeable.

Already mentioned the newer Berk HFC are 300 cell count which are labeled on the side 59956, which is a magna flow part no. for their HFC where you can buy them for 80~110$.

If you are on a budget, a pair of resonated test pipes or non-resonated test pipes you could essentially make your own custom "Berk Resonated HFC" or "Berk HFC"

Also for older G's on the road who have seen more harsh weather over the years, I would recommend upgrading to Z1 Motorsports full metal gaskets. Compared to the composite gasket that comes with most HFC/Test pipes guaranteed no leaks...

As for CEL, the 2012 I think and newer models had a more sensitive O2 sensor hence when Berks straight through throws some CEL. While the Fast Intention with a J bung does not, this could be easily solved if you install a o2 extender/fouler.

Im debating getting RHFC or HFC with my 12 FI Catback. Do you wish it was louder or is it perfect
