Looking forward to it! This will be a great mod for the G once you get it fitted. Did you end up getting the black or is it chrome also?

I've got an R2C kit now that I have yet to install so I'll have back to back comparisons, stock, R2C, then Nismo.

How do you feel about the R2C intake compared to stock, curious? I have currently a vented stock box with K&N drop-ins and smooth silicone Mishimoto upper intake tubes. Did you like the R2C over the stock, I know you're upgrading to the Nismo kit so I am wondering if you noticed a decrease in anything in the powerband or did you not notice enough gains at the end of the day besides sound?

I've not installed the R2C yet, will do so on Sunday or Monday depending on time.

Just re-read that and noticed that you have not installed yet. Sorry about that lol, looking forward to the tests. Are you doing dyno, intake flow and temperature, both? Also what do you plan on doing with the intake you do not use?

I'm going to try and get the car on the dyno for each but it really depends on time (I have very little due to workload). I'm going to see if there's a way to leave the Nismo lower intake portion on the car and still install the R2C so I can swap back and forth quickly. Need to figure a few things out first. It's already hot here so I'm anxious to feel any changes these intakes provide, good or bad.

One of them will be sold. I like the R2C as it's easily maintained and taken off if necessary with no modifications. The Nismo design, at least to these eyes, appears to be the best in terms of performance and it's certainly easier to maintain due to the fact you don't have to remove the front bumper like some intakes.

I'll take a look at everything once installed but there may be a way to get air via the lower fog light surround. There's a big piece of plastic blocking airflow and I believe, with some careful cutting from the back, I could open that area up to airflow. But if there's enough air where the filters sit, I'll not make any permanent modifications like that. Wonder if you can get just the plastic surrounding the fogs on an IPL bumper...Maybe small inlet ducts from underneath.

About to install the R2C's. Actually did this Saturday night and ran into a snag. Filters weren't dry. These things DO take forever and a day to dry if you wash them. Enough so that if you have a daily driver, I'd just purchase a second set of filters.

I also ordered an OBDII Bluetooth transmitter and will use that to monitor intake air temps. Not arriving til Tuesday however. But it's good and hot here now so I should get a good test of the R2C's over the next week.

Any update on the fitment of the NISMO intake? was it a direct fit or were adjustments needed?

Not direct bolt in but close...May work better on a non-IPL as I believe there's more room between the fog lights and wheel well liner. Full writeup via link below.
