Changing Engine Air Filter 2010

Is there a video or step by step pictures on how to change the engine air filters somewhere?

No. It's idiot proof and doesn't require one. If you look in the owners manual there's a drawing. I you open your hood and look and can't figure it out right away, close it and take it to the dealership.

I actually never changed the filters in the stock air box b/c I immediately upgraded to an intake systems after I bought the car. It should be pretty self explanatory once you get under there though. I can't remember if it's latches, hooks, or just screws but once you undo all that, take out the old filter, put in the new, do steps in reverse to reassemble air box. Repeat on other side. Shouldn't take any more than 30 minutes.

It's wicked easy. One in the left in front and one n the right. Little slide cover. Slide it back and pull the filter out and replace. Same for the other one.

If it takes you more than 5 minutes to do both, you should probably take the bus.

Seriously what BB said....it's wicked WICKED easy. Easier than any other vehicle I've ever owned.

How many miles have you put on your G? I check my engine air filters fairly often, especially after a trip, since I may have driven in a part of the country with a lot more dirt in the air, then here in SW Florida. Mine still look as good as new after almost 17,000 miles. I do almost all highway driving, so it doesn't take anywhere near the operating hours for me to put those miles on versus owner's that drive mainly in city traffic. Some owner's due to their driving conditions may have to change the air filters 2 to 3 times more often then others. When you remove the air filters, hold them to a light bulb close behind them. If you can easily see through all the areas of the filters they are not restricting the flow of air so they don't need replaced.

It's called a "drop in" filter because thats exactly what you do.

Pop the intake box clips open, "drop in" the new filter, and close the box.... simple as that.

Boy do I feel like an idiot. I had never seen a slide out filter and thought two clips on top and a clip or two on bottom which would require the whole housing assembly to be removed. Yes, the whole job took about 5 minutes. Since this was so easy, I wound up changing the cabin filter as well. If anyone has not changed the cabin filter, there is an excellent video on youtube just make sure you have a long phillips screwdriver (more than the 12 inch screwdriver stated on the video.)

Thanks for everyone's help.

I actually just replaced my factory air filters with K&N filters at 16K miles. I usually use K&Ns in my vehicles because of how easy it is to clean them whenever I want, but I never expect them to make much difference with performance. However, my G's engine sound is a bit louder/deeper at 4K+ RPMs with these. The sound is actually pleasant (CAIs usually scare me off due to the usual loud, Rice Mobile sounds) and it provides a nice psychological effect that makes me think it's a bit peppier. Too early to tell if fuel economy was impacted at all, but I doubt it. All in all, not a bad way to spend $80 (thanks Amazon).

I changed mine yesterday and I could swear to you that each side took less than 15 seconds.
If you change them ans need more than 45 seconds, like bb said, take it to the dealer.

I just changed both sides in less than 2 minutes total. Maybe 1 minutes and few seconds. If I can do it, anyone can.
