Help stripped the nut on the axle back portion of exhaust

stripped the nut on the axle back portion of exhaust
hey guys,
i was trying to remove the axle back portion of my stock 2008 sports exhaust and on of the nuts attached to the bolt got stripped. I tried putting in a smaller socket but not luck.
what is the best way to remove the nut?
i struggled for 1 hour finally tighten the stock exhaust and gave up......
i hate taking my car to a shop when it is something a DIY can do.. however now i might have no choice, what are my options to take it out?
