people with the invidia exhaust is that its close to the stock exhaust note but just with a deeper growl, mayby look into that? or you can just change the HFC with berk and keep your stock exhaust and get a deep growl!

The true dual cat-back from Fast Intentions still keeps the stock note. However, you will never be able to have a 100% complete stock-sounding exhaust when you put something other than the stock one. Many will sound similar, but never the exact same with an added loudness; especially if you want HP gains. You can amplify your stock sound with Berk HFC's. I've heard them on a coupe and it sounds amazing while still retaining your normal sound.

So your goal is to find an exhaust to increase HP while maintaining the same sound?

Our exhaust system is 2 inches, you can replace the piping to 2.25" ... and keep the stock mufflers. I did that on my old car, sounded about the same, except a bit deeper and felt a bit faster.

LOL @ Everyone repping for the exhaust they have.

The Stillen exhaust has to be the closest to what you are asking about, but it has the stock look to it and also uses a Y pipe so isn't a true dual. It has zero drone and rasp.

Ark is considerably louder. Fast Intentions is louder too, and has some drone at 3k RPM Fast Intentions does make an exhaust, the traditional, that is closer to stock sound and is a true dual.

The IPL exhaust is also another option as stated above.

Someone else mentions HFC's which is probably the cheapest option, but will give you the results you are looking for.

Thanks Breftayka! This info right here is what I have been looking for...a general summary of the popular exhausts! But if i'm not mistaken, there are a few that have the Ark and the FI and report of no droning. Does this depend on the transmission or their particular set up?

Don't mean to thread jack the OP but since we are already on the topic, these exhausts don't require the HFC's do they?

I only notice it doing 80 on the highway with the music down. It's only a little on the FI. I have 6MT, but I'm sure both the 5AT and 7AT are around 3k rpm at 80mph in 5th or 7th.

No you can use stock cats. HFC's are less restrictive than stock and therefore increase performance generally.
