Takeda Installed (Pics)

Install wasn't difficult but was def tedious to get the pipes to line up just right with the couplers. I am not a fan of modifying body parts permanently on a newish vehicle, although I do like stillens design, thats all that kept me from buying. I have seen ppl saying they installed these with the bumper on, but I wouldn't see why or how, especially when it is so easy to take off. Anyway on to the pics.

They aren't "THAT" thin, they are however very flexible. I didn't measure but they don't seem any thinner than most silicone couplers. They don't have as much reinforment in them but that is necessary for them to fit through the holes, it's a tight squeeze as is.

Not supplied with it, but there is an optional "splash shield". Runs about $60.

This is true, however with the stock grill it is pretty well covered after the bumper is reinstalled. If you have one of the more open/mesh style grills i would probably suggest it.

Nope, are you sure it wasn't installer error?

It didn't take any forcing just some alignment to get it on just right, where both pipes were well inside the filter. Either side of the pipe where it comes into at this point has at least an inch in both sides of the coupler and as you can see are well inside the filter.

I got frustrated at one point and had to step away from it for a few minutes but after I stopped rushing and took an extra few minutes it went on nice and clean.

i think hp and torque gains are very similar, the best part about the takeda is you don't have to cut the stock air intake vents to install it like the stillen does. This, at least to me, is a major selling point, especially if I sell the car later on and put stock intakes back on.
